Apply to join our Drug Discovery Advisory Panel

Please note that we have now filled the vacant positions on our Drug Discovery Advisory Panel. If you would like to keep up with future opportunities to work with us please sign up to Synapse - the Parkinson's UK enewsletter for researchers.

The Parkinson’s UK Virtual Biotech selects and manages projects at the drug discovery and early clinical development stages, to fast track the most promising scientific discoveries to rapidly develop and test new Parkinson's treatments.

We are looking to create a portfolio of projects that can attract further investment, and we’ll look to partner with companies to take successful projects into the later stages of drug development and trials. We have an ambitious goal of identifying and funding 3-4 new high quality projects every year.

A critical component of this programme is our Drug Discovery Advisory Panel of external, independent experts, drawn from relevant disciplines, most with some industrial experience. The Panel helps us review, select, shape and monitor our projects and provides strategic insight.

A vacancy has recently arisen, which we are keen to fill in order to maintain the balance of experience and expertise which has proven so successful thus far.

The Panel meets two or three times a year at Parkinson’s UK head office in central London and the time commitment from members is approximately six to eight days annually.

The position is offered on a voluntary basis and is unpaid, although Parkinson’s UK will reimburse reasonable travelling expenses.

Successful applicants will hold an advanced degree in a relevant discipline and have experience selecting and implementing drug discovery projects.

If you are interested in joining us, we kindly ask that you provide the following information by emailing us at by 31 December 2017.
